The Tourist Police, police, firefighters and Red Cross from Nosara along with several locals are looking for a Filipinan woman of 39,  who allegedly may have drowned in Playa Guiones.

The alert to the tourist police was given by the sister of the victim, surnamed Majan Harris, at 11:30 am today, Thursday 31 March.

The official Santos Gomez Gomez said the woman was bathing with her two children in the south part of the beach, known as "pools" due to the natural pools formed between the rocks.

The incident occurred as the tide went out, creating suction currents.

At this time, being 3:30 pm, there are 7 private boats, 8 divers and
several surfers collaborating in the search by sea.  Two autogyro (mini-helicopters) and one plane from the aircraft company Nature Air are  looking  by air.

The search by land is done by several quads, the Red Cross ambulance, firefighter vehicles,  private motorcycles,  and police motorcycles.

This is not the first time an incident has occured in the area of the pools. In January 2011, a woman of Costa Rican nationality, drowned trying to save her children and nieces in the currents.
