This Saturday, January 26th, Carrillo beach will be the scene where national and foreign triathlon athletes will prepare to classify for the Central American and Caribbean Games, which will take place between March 3 to 15 in San Jose.
This Saturday, the Guanacaste beach will host the first date of the 2013 Tria Cup. The triathlon is supported by the Triathlon United Federation. According to the organizers, they expect some 200 triathlon athletes to participate in this event.
The athletes will face a distance of 5 kilometers of athleticism, followed by getting on their bicycles and pedaling 20 kilometers. Finally they will run 2.5 kilometers.
For this date, the national elite selection, the selection of Guatemala, Puerto Rico and Panama will be present.
The foreign athletes will measure their strength and ability with the Costa Ricans and at the same time they are coming to check out the Ticos and principally Leo Chacon, number one triathlon athlete in the country.
The competitions are scheduled to initiate at 2 pm in the afternoon in front of Puerto Carrillo’s airstrip.
