Nosara Surf and Weather Conditions for February
By Alex Espir

As the rest of the globe seems to be falling into a mini ice age, Costa Rica and the central pacific continued to benefit from pacific storms with swell after swell. Through January offshore winds prevailed for almost two weeks, ending in a period of intensified winds for a few days keeping everyone awake at night but out of the water. The winds were an intensification of the Papagayo winds. With a high pressure system sitting over the southern US and a high pressure system is in place over Central America. This combination gives us strong offshore winds for a number of days. There were a large number of different swells arriving throughout, following the pattern from February. Both North West Swells and South swells arrived consistently through the month, groomed by offshores giving us nonstop epic conditions. El Niño is taking full effect.
