Dust Fashion Nosara 2012

By Adam DIETRICH

Another year has passed and it looks like, yet again, Nosara will not be getting asphalt. However, potholes, molasses and choking dust are nothing for a seasoned Nosareño. Not only do we still carry out business in a dust cloud, we look good doing it. Here are some of the hottest fashions for this season in Nosara.

Here is a stylish rider: a helmet ($50+), promoting aerodynamics, as well as style and safety if nicely complimented by goggles. The
goggles keep the dust out and the coloured tint lets you see others without them seeing you.

A more traditional look: also taking advantage of the safety, airflow and simple style of a helmet this rider opted for clear goggles. While clear goggles will not shade you from the sun, they offer a chance to accent your eyes, perhaps with a little mascara.

This woman opted for the scarf over the helmet: a slightly more affordable look that promotes beauty over safety. A scarf keeps the hair out of the face, while another compliments the first while keeping dust from the nose and mouth. A pair of stylish sunglasses top off this outfit

White is definitely in this season, if you can keep it clean. Here a simple yet elegant white hair band keeps your hair neatly tucked away. White rimmed sunglasses provide protection from the sun and look good. The dust mask provides great protection from dust as well as a utilitarian juxtaposition.

Here is a unique style: the beanie in Nosara’s sun says, “Even in the heat I’m still cool.” While the goggles with a strap provide secure yet fashionable eye protection all of which is complemented by a designer dust-mask for ventilation and style.

Here is a classy look, a mix of old an new. The vintage helmet is a slightly more affordable option ($25) than your average one. It neatly compliments a silk scarf ($50) which will feel soft and gentle while defending you from the dust. The look is tied together neatly by a pair
of sunglasses.

Sometimes elegance is best displayed through simplicity, as is the case with this one. A simple yet practical red scarf highlights skin tone while keeping dust out of your throat. This is neatly held in place by a combination helmet visor which serves to protect your head, eyes
and style.

The vintage helmet shows the return of driving fashion from the turn of the century which is juxtaposed with a bright green scharf. The light stitching on the scarf makes it light enough to wear on the hottest days, yet still able to protect from the dust.

More White. This stylish hat ensures that one can be stylish and yet protect your head and ears from the sun whilst shading the eyes. Prescription glasses provide a good way to keep dust from the eyes while being able to see properly. This is all complimented by a simple bandana for the dust.
