Indulge in Chocolate and Bliss Balls at The Village

For natural gourmet chocolate made locally and organic, check out bliss balls and cocoa cacao fudge, made by JanPaul Kahlan at The Village.  Both are made using raw cacao powder from the Caribbean side of Costa Rica.

Bliss balls also include soaked almonds, dates and raisins organic vanilla, coconut oil and coconut palm sugar and are coated with dehydrated coconut on the outside. They sell for 1000 colones each. 

Cocoa cacao fudge has been described as the healthy version of Nutella, and is made with just five ingredients: coconut milk, coconut butter, raw cacao powder, vanilla and cane sugar.  It is sold in 8-ounce jars for 5000 colones.  Both are available at Naked Foods at the Village, between Guiones and Pelada.  Open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
