Nosara Neighbors Organize a Street Clean-Up Around the Dumpsite

By Jessica Shieffield
Nosara Recycle Association

This Saturday, April 21st at 7am, the Nosara Recycling Association has organized a street clean up around the Nosara dump and they encourage community support and participation in this event.

Nosara is world famous for its beauty, however inadequate waste treatment is putting our health, our job sources, as well as the present and future of our community at risk.

The street clean up does not solve the root of the problem; it is just one of the necessary activities and efforts sponsored by the Nosara Recycling Association.

The waste management strategy that the Association is working with includes: environmental education, recycling and compost bins in local schools, information about better waste management practices in the Nosara community, recycling program with transparent bags, composting from home, promoting events with no trash residue, as well as the construction of a Recycling Center for our community.

Do you generate garbage? We all certainly do, without exception. The important question to answer is am I part of the solution?

Please join us on Saturday, the 21st of April. Invite your family and friends. Together we can make a difference and succeed in having a clean, vibrant and sustainable community for the benefit of all Nosara residents and visitors.
