On Friday, June 10th 2011, Honali Beachhouse hosted the annual bikini show of Nosara. It featured 40 pieces from the local bikini designer, Desi Morffe. The event, that more than 150 guests attended, started at 7:00 p.m. The same venue also held an after party.

The crowd gathered around the pool, which hosted the runway. As the drinks started to heat them up, some dipped their feet into the pool for refreshment. Finally, around 10 p.m. six models began to shake the the runway back and forth, stirring the crowd with their dances.

Venezuelan designer, Desi Morffe, who held her 3rd fashion show in Nosara, said that she had to design and make all the pieces in two days, after her arrival from a Europe trip on Wednesday, June 8th 2011. She added that this show was like magic for her, because when she got here models, music, venue, DJ, everything was ready, "there was pressure but it went well because I just had to put my ideas out there. That is perfect for an artist."

The concept of this specific show was the rastafari culture. However, the designer, Morffe said "in general, nature, colors, everything I see inspire me."

Event organizer, Nina Arias, explained that "she (Desi Morffe) is the main local bikini girl. She works really hard and I will continue to support her creativity in Nosara. As a community, we should be proud of having a local designer like Desi."

Arias also said, "I was thrilled with the turn out. I am especially pleased and thankful for the venue, and ambiance. Diane Lindsey (the owner of the venue) made it very accommodating, and took great care of us. It was a night with a lot of high energy and good vibes"

Model Molly Ariel commented that "It was super cool. A lot of locals came to support. Desi and Nina are great coordinators. Honali needs to have more things like this."

In relation to her stay at Guiones Beach, Desi Morffe said that she has an amazing life style here, which allows her to surf, design and market her work. With its cosmopolitan aspect, "being in Guiones enriches my vision," she said. "It is like a channel to connect (yourself) with the rest of the world. "

All the pieces that were specifically designed for this show will be for sale as a special edition at Desi's Bikini Store.
