The Voice of Nosara and Nosara Animal Care (NAC) are joining forces to find homes for abandoned dogs and cats in Nosara. With this campaign, you will get to know each of them better and also help them. Meet Grenon:

Name: Grenon

Age: 7 year old

Description: Black and tan adult male dog. He is tall, large and fully grown.

Medical History: Grenon is neutered and fully vaccinated. He is healthy and strong. He was treated for mange and a skin fungal infection when first picked up by NAC.

Background: Grenon lived with his owner near the high school in Santa Teresita. In August of 2011 he was seen in the road looking like a walking skeleton. His nails were so long that they curled around and it hurt him to walk. He had very little hair and was covered with a skin infection, fungus, and mange. He was so skinny and obviously malnourished. NAC asked around the neighborhood to find out information about him and if he had an owner. He was surrendered to NAC and immediately fed and treated for his ailments.

It took several months to really see a big change in his appearance but with routine baths with medicated shampoo and medicine his coat eventually began to grow in and his skin looked much better. He quickly became very happy, appreciative of every meal, and loved attention. He also became very protective of his guardian and turned into a highly effective guard dog.

Grenon can be a bully but he also has a soft mushy side. Each morning when greeted by his guardian he roles on his back with a big smile and plays like an oversized puppy. He would make a perfect guard dog but also needs to be loved and well fed.

If you want to help Grenon, share this story with your friends and family. You can contact Nosara Animal Care at [email protected] or on facebook at www.facebook.com/NACCostaRica
