Nosara ASADA to Elect a New President
February 22nd

It's election time for the Nosara ASADA (Water Administration Association/ Asociación Administradora del Agua), and the position of president is vacant. Elections take place every two years and will be held at the annual assembly on Wednesday, February 22nd at the ASADA office. The meeting is scheduled for 8 a.m., but if a quorum of 51% of the ASADA membership (about 102 people) is not present, then the meeting will begin at 9 a.m.

Current president Richard Walker has decided not to run for reelection but said he is going to make sure that the water is well taken care of. "Not only will someone be running but it will be a race," he promised, as he is encouraging people to throw their hats into the ring not only for the position of president but for any position.

Positions include president, vice president, secretary, treasurer, fiscal and two vocals. To run for election, candidates must be members of ASADA, and only members can attend the general assembly. Members can run on the spot during the meeting.

Also during the assembly, reports will be presented by the secretary, the treasurer, the fiscal and the president regarding budget, legalities and the state of the ASADA: what has been done this year, what is being done and what needs to be done.
