March Surf Forecast
by Ryan Gorman

March right into the big wave season!! The third month of the calendar year is a prime time for surfers in Costa Rica and a month we have all been preparing for, making sure you have a board that will hold in firing, double overhead surf. March is when directions in the ocean swells begin to switch and we are welcomed in to the start of the big swell season. To kick off the month we will have overhead surf from 205-210 degrees.

This is when we start to see more consistent head high plus days and a handful in the double overhead range, possibly a tad bigger. We will still have a few days during the month bringing waist chest high surf, but not many as they are usually just fillers between back to back swells. On average, it should be in the chest to head high plus range with plenty of bigger days to get your adrenaline pumping.
