Samara Earns the Blue Flag

Samara Beach now has its Blue Flag again. As a result of the efforts of the Chamber of Tourism (CASATUR) along with the help of members of the community, the Costa Rican Institute of Tourism (ICT) awarded them one star on their flag. The maximum is three. On March 28th, the ceremony of presenting the Blue Flag will take place in Puntarenas.

 

Guiones Tourist Police Now Have A Car

After two years of waiting, the tourist police received a four-door Suzuki Sidekick on February 24th. The vehicle was transferred from the tourist police of Flamingo to the office of Guiones and will patrol the streets of Nosara along with the two motorcycles that the public security agents already have. With this car, the tourist police will also be able to take people that they detain to Nicoya, which will expedite their work.

With more requirements creating new expenses, as well as the economic situation straining spending, this year’s fiestas in Samara and Nosara raised considerably less funds for the communities.
