If anyone ever offered you hot-chili with vodka at a party, you probably would've responded that they are nuts! However, during Wednesday nights at Playa Guiones, everyday life disappears as the palate absorbs new pleasures. 

Nosara has several bars, many of them really nice, with ocean views, great service and good music; however, the drinks menu usually offers only Mojitos, Caipirinhas, Cuba Libre and Sangria. It does not go beyond these classics. For those of us who live here, and when it comes to going out, the search for new flavors does not always lean towards food. Cocktails also matter.

Each Wednesday, the Juice Bar at Harmony Hotel breaks a bartender's mold by offering drinks like: “Hot Pepper-tini” (pineapple juice with Panama peppers-infused vodka), “Passion-tini” (passion fruit, carrot juice and ginger-infused vodka) “Earl-tini” (vodka infused with Earl Grey tea and a dash of lime) and Coffee-tini (organic coffee, coconut milk and vodka).

Now, we don't recommend going overboard as vodka is present and, after two cocktails, the living room lounge-style hanging lamps start moving without any wind, the body starts to sink into the couches and one may finish the evening quite ungracefully, and Harmony is all about elegancy.

For the moment, Wednesdays will continue to take place only during the month of March, with several singers already confirmed to delight us with their unplugged shows. Among them, Addison Wakefield on the guitar and Kim Spilker singing, both indie eclectic musicians with original songs and covers in English, Spanish and French; and our local Giuselle Picado, from Garza, with a voice every bit as beautiful as Adele's, the renowned singer.

Twice a month, Hotel Café de Paris changes its name and rhythm. On Fridays, every two weeks, you can hear the drums and see the improvised dancers going into a trance. Now, the hot spot on Fridays is the “Fish Bar”.

Caricaco Music Festival is Now an Addiction
