On Thursday, on May 26th, 2011 at noon, the Tsunami Alarm, located in Lot 111 of Section A, below Villa Mango, was tested with the purpose of finding out the aerial coverage of the alarm system. It was only heard at Pelada Beach.

There are five sirens for different purposes: general, radioactivity, chemical, tsunami and fire alarms. Marcel Schaerer, the president of the Nosara Civic Association, said that the strongest and the most consistent one was the general alarm.

After the test, Schaerer also added that two more alarms will be installed. One will be installed at Giardino Tropicale for Guiones Beach. And the third alarm will be installed somewhere near Nosara town for the Nosara residents.
