Channel 7 to Feature Nosara and Samara on “7 Estrellas”

By Arianna McKinney

The Channel 7 team visited Nosara on June 27-28 and Samara on June 28-29 to film segments for their entertainment program “7 Estrellas” Sin Reservas (7 Stars Without Reserves), which airs every Thursday at 8 p.m. The segment on Nosara will be aired on Thursday, July 5, and the segment on Samara will air the following Thursday, July 12. The segments will last 7 to 8 minutes.
Giovanni Linares, presenter for the program, explained that the visits to Nosara and Samara are part of a new alliance between “7 Estrellas” and the Costa Rican Institute of Tourism (ICT)’s program “Vamos a Turistiar” (Let’s go be Tourists), a program designed to promote national tourism.

Nosara and Samara will also be featured on the website vamosaturistiar.com, which gives away trips to promote tourism within Costa Rica.

Linares said that in each area featured on the program, they visit restaurants to test good food and they do activities. For example, in Nosara, the Channel 7 crew visited hotel Lagarta Lodge and hotel L’acqua Viva, took a tour with Experience Nosara and visited Guiones beach. In Samara, their itinerary included bar/restaurants El Ancla, Tabanuco and Vela Latina as well as a kayak tour to Chora island and a visit to Koss Art Gallery

The decision to visit Nosara and Samara was based on recommendations from ICT, and the choice in restaurants in activities was coordinated through ICT and the local chamber of commerce, indicated Linares.

After visiting the areas, Linares personally said he thinks Nosara is an area not frequently visited by national tourists due to ignorance of the area. “I never imagined that it had such beautiful beaches and places and such beautiful hotels,” he commented.

He said he has visited Samara before and he likes the town’s environment, noting that it has more of a party scene than Nosara.
