The change into the wet season has brought with it some big old swells. Coupled with storms and unusually high periods of rain, the conditions haven’t been great here at Guiones. All the large storm swells passing through Guiones completely changed the profile of the beach, pulling a lot of the sand from the beach offshore thus really affecting wave quality. As the swells died down we returned to smaller, cleaner wave conditions. The small waves pushed the sand back towards to the nearshore beach. The swells cleaned up and given us what we are used to. Although the rainstorms still prevailed, waves were getting better. The south pacific is obviously very active. We should see frequent large overhead swells consistently passing through over the next few months.
