During a meeting held in May, the Security Committee warned that, if no financial aid was received, the Tourist Police would have to close its doors in June; however, thanks to the Association's efforts and the logistics support given by Luis Chavarría, Chief of Liberia's Tourist Police, the threat of not having security in Nosara is now a thing of the past. An extra officer per shift was even sent to Nosara in order to keep the Guiones office open 24 hours a day.
