Muni Gives Until Sept. 14 to Update Property Declarations



The municipal administration is preparing to do a massive declaration, where people have to visit the Bienes Inmuebles office between July 16th and September 14th to declare their properties or update declarations that are out of date. Otherwise the municipality will start performing municipal appraisals of properties. See full story here

Bomberos Ball Earns Money Towards New Fire Truck



The event was held at the Santa Marta Community Centre on July 14 and organized by private company Pacific Security. Much of the fundraising money is going to be used on the purchase of an actual fire truck. See full story here

Thieves Assault Samara Gas Station

The robbery took place at about 7:30 a.m. on Monday, July 16th. Two men arrived at the gas station on motorcycle, without a license plate. One of the thief was wearing a motorcycle helmet and had a bunch of flowers in his hand, stole the money from an employee at the gas station who was preparing money for a bank deposit. One waited outside while the other robbed the gas station. Later the two escaped on motorcycle toward Samara. See full story here

First Electronic Waste Collection Cleans Up Nosara 



Local businesses and residents dropped off over 100 items at the electronic waste collection on Saturday 14 and Sunday 15. All of these items were transported to the electronic waste collector in Carrillo. See full story here

Vacationers Rescued by Local Surfers

On Monday, July 23, one American family on vacation in Guiones Beach, were pulled out past the surf breaks, and were later rescued by local surfers. See full story here

Residents of Nicoya Canton Protested the Government’s Unfulfilled Promises

Some 600 representatives from Nosara and Samara development associations, community groups, taxi drivers and syndics of the Municipality of Nicoya—among other groups—organized a march on Wednesday, July 25th, to protest before the executive power various unfulfilled promises.
