David Kitson Library Update
By Beverly Kitson

The Biblioteca David Kitson is already looking towards the new year after a very busy 2010 in which we saw a new computer center installed by the National Library System for community use and expanded activities of the Seniors Club into a performing dance group doing folk dance and religious dance for church and holidays.

Once again, we will welcome four volunteer teachers from Middlebury College in Vermont in January to teach intensive English to nosareños. This is a good opportunity to help your maid or gardener to begin or continue their learning to speak English. Call the library for more information or call me at 2682-0091.
On Sunday, January 16, Wylly and Jim Guterman will host our annual thank you party for those who give $200 or more for the support of the Library’s budget. The event will be in their Bosque Verde home. If you already are a Library Patron, it’s time to renew your support. If you haven’t been a Patron in the past, please consider joining this group that is so essential to meeting the ever growing needs of the library and the community.

Our annual benefit will be held, as usual, in February. Watch the Voice of Nosara in January for more information about this event which always offers a great meal and terrific entertainment.
We have recently returned from San Jose where we purchased many new books for the collection, including great additions to our young adult readers section. Come in and see.

She envisioned creating a space of art and athletics for the children of Nosara during the summer. Ten years later, this vision is a reality: the “escuelita” (little summer school) is eagerly awaiting the little ones, and also the not so little ones. More >
